Overview
Luna Cruise Halong Bay full day tour takes a different approach to the Halong Bay trip: rather than packing in a long Hanoi transfer and a tight sightseeing schedule, it starts and ends at the port in Ha Long itself, leaving room for a genuinely 6-star pace onboard. Guests get an international buffet spanning close to 100 dishes, a swimming pool and outdoor lounge deck between stops, and an afternoon tea service timed to sunset, on top of the same UNESCO-listed caves and islands every Halong Bay cruise covers. It’s built for travelers who are already based in Ha Long or arranging their own transport, and who’d rather spend the extra time on comfort than on the road.
Highlights
- Sail Halong Bay’s UNESCO World Heritage seascape aboard a 6-star vessel
- Dine on an international buffet with nearly 100 Asian and European dishes
- Visit Luon Cave, with kayaking through its lagoon available as an add-on
- Explore Sung Sot Cave, one of the bay’s largest and most striking grottoes
- Swim or hike to a panoramic viewpoint at Ti Top Island
- Close the day with afternoon tea and live music on deck as the sun sets over the karsts

What to Expect?
9:00 AM – Check-In at Ha Long International Cruise Port
Guests arrive at the cruise port between 9:00 and 9:30 AM for check-in, where the crew runs through a short welcome and safety briefing before the ship departs at 10:00 AM. Because boarding happens directly at the port rather than after a multi-hour road transfer, guests reach the water fresher and with more of the day still ahead of them.
11:00 AM – International Buffet Lunch
Between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM, guests are seated in the onboard restaurant for a buffet that runs to nearly 100 dishes across Asian and European cuisine, a noticeably wider spread than the set seafood menus most standard day cruises serve. It’s a practical detail for mixed groups or families where tastes don’t line up neatly.
12:30 PM – Luon Cave
From 12:30 to 1:30 PM, the ship anchors near Luon Cave. Guests can join a guided visit on foot or opt into kayaking through the cave’s calm, cliff-enclosed lagoon for an additional fee. Either way, this stretch of the bay stays sheltered from the open water and noticeably quieter than the main channel.
1:45 PM – Sung Sot Cave
Between 1:45 and 2:45 PM, the ship docks so guests can walk through Sung Sot Cave, widely considered one of the largest and most dramatic grottoes in the bay. Its chambers hold stalactite and stalagmite formations built up over thousands of years, some tall enough to lose their tops in shadow even in daylight.
3:00 PM – Ti Top Island
From 3:00 to 3:45 PM, the ship stops at Ti Top Island. The choice here is straightforward: hike to the summit for a sweeping view over the bay’s islet field, or stay at the beach and swim in the calm, clear water below.
4:00 PM – Afternoon Tea and Sunset
The day winds down between 4:00 and 5:00 PM with afternoon tea and live music on the open deck, timed so the sun sets over the limestone karsts while guests are still onboard. It’s a slower close to the day than most day cruises offer, and it’s usually what guests remember most.
5:00 PM – Return to Port
The ship docks back at Ha Long International Cruise Port at 5:00 PM, where the Luna cruise Halong Bay full day tour concludes.
