What to Expect?

8:00 AM – Hotel Pickup in Hanoi

A Liberty vehicle collects guests from hotels in Hanoi’s Old Quarter starting around 8:00 AM. The drive to Tuan Chau Marina takes roughly 2 to 2.5 hours along the expressway, cutting through the Red River Delta’s flat farmland before the coastline comes into view.

11:30 AM – Boarding and Welcome Drink

At Tuan Chau, guests check in and board directly, with the crew serving a welcome drink on the top deck while running through the day’s schedule. Because the guest count is limited, boarding rarely takes more than a few minutes, and the boat is often underway before the marina’s larger group cruises have finished loading.

12:00 PM – Lunch as the Boat Gets Underway

Lunch is served shortly after departure, cooked to order rather than pulled from a standing buffet line, and centered on local seafood dishes plated course by course. As the boat sails past Fighting Cock Islet and Thumb Islet, the pace stays unhurried, there’s no rush to clear plates for the next seating.

2:00 PM – Sung Sot Cave Exploration

The boat docks below Sung Sot Cave, the largest and most visited grotto in the bay, and a stone path climbs into the hillside. Inside, the chambers open into a cavern several stories tall, lined with stalactite and stalagmite formations shaped by mineral water over thousands of years. Because Liberty times its arrival to avoid the marina’s peak departure windows, the cave is often noticeably quieter than it is at midday.

3:00 PM – Kayaking or Bamboo Boat at Luon Cave

Guests transfer into kayaks or bamboo boats for the paddle through Luon Cave’s low stone archway into a lagoon closed off from the open water. It’s calm and mostly silent here, broken occasionally by birdsong or the splash of a langur moving along the cliff face, and it’s usually the part of the day guests bring up first afterward.

4:00 PM – Titop Island & Beach

The final stop is Titop Island, where travelers can swim off the sandy beach or climb the roughly 400-step staircase to the summit for a 360-degree view of the islet field. Both options work well; the beach suits anyone who’d rather relax, while the climb rewards the effort with the best photo angle of the day.

6:00 PM – Return to Hanoi

As the afternoon light softens, the boat heads back to Tuan Chau, where a our bus is waiting to take guests straight back to Hanoi around 8:00-9:30 PM. Most arrive at their hotel by early evening, without the extended wait for a shared shuttle to fill up.
