Mui Ne is a coastal town in Lam Dong (former Binh Thuan) Province, southeastern Vietnam, known for a landscape unlike anywhere else in the country, rolling red and white sand dunes that look more like a desert than a tropical beach town. Steady, reliable winds have also made it Vietnam’s best-established kitesurfing and windsurfing destination, drawing water sports enthusiasts alongside travelers here for the dunes, the Fairy Stream, and a still-active fishing village.
Once a quiet backpacker and kitesurfing stop reachable by overnight bus from Ho Chi Minh City, Mui Ne has grown considerably in profile over recent years, now positioned as a broader coastal experience rather than a single-activity getaway.
